Admiral Mamish receives EU ambassadors for investment in Suez Canal area

“The European Union is the biggest supporter of development and investment and we have come to see your success as the channel is the main route of our trade with the world”, said Ivan Sorkosh today heading a delegation of the ambassadors of the European Union countries in Egypt.

The head of the Suez Canal Authority, Mr. Mohab Mamish, received the delegation that includes 18 ambassadors and representatives of 27 countries, headed by EU Ambassador to Egypt Ivan Sorkosh. it was attended by admiral Usama Rabea, Vice President of the Commission, and a number of the Authority’s leaders at the Simulation and Maritime Training Center in Ismailia.

At the beginning of the meeting, admiral Mohab Mamish welcomed the ambassadors of the European Union countries in Egypt and expressed his happiness with this historic visit to the Suez Canal Authority, stressing the depth of the economic and political relations between Egypt and the European Union.

 He praised the European Union’s role in assisting developing countries in economic growth, stressing the European Union’s support for the Egyptian economy, stressing that the Suez Canal Authority is fully neutral in its dealings with transiting ships and does not distinguish between countries in terms of navigation.

The Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority pointed out that the new Suez Canal project has maintained the pioneering position of the Canal and increased its efficiency in dealing with current and future generations of ships. The new channel serves as a channel for good development as the infrastructure necessary for the giant national project. A promising plan based on the concept of value added and improve the exploitation of the genius of the site through industrial and logistics areas and six ports promising.

“We hope that the European Investors Conference will be held to see the competitive facilities offered by the economic region of the channel, assured Mr Mamish.

In his speech, Mr. Ivan Sorcosh thanked Mr. Mohab Mamish for receiving ambassadors of the European Union and presenting development plans in the Canal region.

There is no doubt that the Suez Canal is important to the whole world, especially to the EU countries, where most of our trade, through which we expect to increase in the coming period, is very important in the field of development and economy and we expect Egypt to achieve a great economic boom soon. “, said Sorcosh.

The attendees listened to a presentation on the Suez Canal project and the development project in the canal area, which was presented by a series of documentary films that describe the history of the Suez Canal and explain its leading position in the service of the global trade movement.

At the end of the visit, the admiral Mamish presented the new Suez Canal shield to Mr. Ivan Sorkosh. He then invited the delegation to take a tour of the new canal and visit the Ismaili tunnels to see the scale of the achievement on the ground.
