“Zaki” highlights harvest of Arab League 2018, confirming no relevance of next Arab summits about American withdrawal from Syria

In the presence of Ambassador Badr al-Din Alali, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Head of the Information Sector, Ambassador Mahmoud Afifi, Spokesman for the Secretary-General and a number of secretariat staff, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Head of the Secretary-General’s Office, highlighted achievement of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, indicating the completion of 95% of the detailed rules of origin for Arab goods. he said that it began October 2018 to complete lists 2, 3 of the rules of Arab Free Trade Area. This came during a press conference held on Monday at the headquarters of the Arab League to review the harvest of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in 2018.

Zaky criticized the Arab media for ignoring the coverage of political issues, although these topics benefit societies and directly contribute to the interest of the Arab citizen.

The Assistant Secretary-General pointed out the importance of the Arab Strategy for Sustainable Energy 2030, pointing out that it will be presented to the Fourth Economic and Development Summit hosted by Lebanon 19 – 20 January 2019, to be adopted by Arab leaders during their meeting at the summit level.

Ambassador Hosam Zaky noted that the Arab agreement was ratified in 2018 to liberalize trade in services to be applied after ratification by three Arab countries to realize the dream of the Arab street.
