Within the framework of the deep-rooted Egyptian-Omani relations, the well-known media ambassador, Mr. Abdalah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi – the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the League of Arab States and a multi-state ambassador to other countries – stated today one of the decades of cohesion and connection between his mother country and its sister in blood, race and religion.. Egypt, in which it was blessed with thirty years of his life on its land.
Through a press conference at Travco Group for Tourism, Ambassador Al-Rahbi announced that the Egyptian-Omani relations have witnessed a strong impetus in recent years in all fields, especially investment and tourism, thanks to the invested efforts of the Omani diplomatic mission in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Mr Ambassador pointed out that the Sultanate of Oman enjoys tourist potentials that are acceptable to tourists in general and Arabs especially, stressing that Omani tourism, according to 2040 vision, aims to achieve approximately 11 million international tourists, which will lead to an increase in the tourism sector’s contributions to the Sultanate’s gross domestic product from 2.4% in 2021 to 5% in the year 2030, and to 10% 2040.
In order to hold many events in the Sultanate and neighboring countries, it is expected that the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman will flourish at the end of 2022 due to what Oman is famous for, such as adventure tourism, which is expected to achieve 282 billion dollars. This is according to what was stated by Ambassador Al-Rahbi.
Regarding the FIFA World Cup that will be held in November 2022 in Qatar, Al-Rahbi expressed his expectations for the recovery of Omani tourism through national companies during the tournament, with great facilities, such as obtaining entry visas in partnership with 52 international airlines, at prices of 99 Omani riyals for economy class, and 305 riyals for businessmen.
Regarding the Omani tourism product, Khaled Al-Zadjali, Director of the Oman Convention Bureau at the Ministry of Tourism and Heritage, stressed that it is unique from others in the Arab Gulf countries, whether staying in tourist facilities, hotels or resorts, as well as setting up camps to perpetuate the national identity, as is the case in traditional villages, sailboats and forts. Castles, off-road adventure driving, Omani markets, traditional camel racing, Bedouin lifestyle, Royal Opera in Muscat, Ras Al Hadd turtle sanctuary, diving and autumn season in Salalah.
Al-Zadjali also indicated that Oman Air intends to reach 50 destinations around the world, in partnership with other airlines such as Qatar Air, EgyptAir, Al Arabiya, Al-Etihad and Al Salam flights to reach to100 air flights.
