Minister Samih Shoukry visits Ankara Thursday as invited by his Turkish counterpart

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Mr. Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will travel on Thursday, April 13, to the Turkish capital, Ankara, based on the invitation extended to him by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that the visit aims to continue the discussions related to the path of normalizing relations between Egypt and Turkey in order to ensure the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, in continuation of the discussions that took place between the two sides during the visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister to Cairo last March, in addition to consultations on a number of of regional and international issues of common interest.

Ambassador Abu Zaid added that the two ministers are expected to hold a closed bilateral meeting upon the arrival of Mr. Sameh Shoukry to Ankara, God willing, to be followed by an expanded discussion session that includes the delegations of the two countries, and then a joint press conference.
