‘Makram’ discusses with Antiquities & Culture advantages of “July” project in Canada as soon as stated

The Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs; Nabila Makram Abdelshahid agreed to a meeting with both Dr. Khaled Elannany, Minister of Antiquities and Dr Inas Abdeldayem, Minister of Culture to know how to benefit from bill 106 for 2019, that is being discussed at the moment in the Canadian Parliament of Ontario which declares July to be Egyptian heritage month in Canada. Also to lay out a plan for advertising Egypt and archeological discoveries and Egyptian culture in Canada once the bill is approved.

Her Excellency, Nabila Makram also communicated with Sheref Sabawy, the first Egyptian elected Parliament Member in Canada, Member of Provincial Parliament of Ontario for Mississauga-Erin Mills who has introduced the Bill with gratitude for his efforts to serve his home country as well as the benefits of the previously mentioned bill after being approved by the Parliament.

Her Excellency also said that discussion of such a bill in the legislature in Canada confirms the supportive role of Egyptian community either in Canada or any country worldwide such as MPP Sherif sabawy who succeeded to take good advantage of his position in the Parliament to introduce the bill especially that this comes right after the Canadian government’s instructions to put Egypt in second category instead of third for non-necessary traveling .

Also her Excellency said that both Ministers of Antiquities and Culture welcomed such a decision and they confirmed their willingness to support advertising Egypt in every way possible.

She added that Once the bill is approved this will be as an official recognition for the first time of the effective role of Egyptians in the Canadian multi-cultural fabric so it must be used for the good of Egypt and Egyptians .

Egyptian MPP Sherif Sabawy introduced bill 106 for 2019 to recognize the month of July as Egyptian Heritage Month to the legislature to be officially celebrated in Canada where the initial reading for it has begun and initial approval is confirmed however a second reading and discussion is scheduled on June 6th.
