Mr Sameh Shoukry received today a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, which intends to visit the American capital, Washington, within the framework of the annual door-to-door mission.
In a statement by Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zaid, the official spokesman and director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he indicated that the meeting witnessed a review of the program of the upcoming visit of the chamber’s delegation to the United States of America, pointing to the recent noticeable increase in the pace of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, political contacts and high-level visits. level, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs addressed the efforts made by the Egyptian state institutions, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to strengthen the Egyptian-American partnership, especially in the economic and investment fields.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that the meeting dealt with challenges related to the global economy and their impact on Egypt, and the efforts made by the Egyptian government to facilitate the flow of foreign investment and the increasing opportunities available to the American private sector to invest in Egypt, which will be the subject of the delegation’s discussions with officials and representatives of the American private sector during the delegation’s visit. to Washington.
On the other hand, the meeting touched on efforts to hold the first meeting of the joint economic commission between the two countries in Cairo, which is expected to serve as a comprehensive umbrella for economic cooperation between the two countries, including in energy, environment, investment, trade, communications, information technology, digital economy, infrastructure and supply chains. The Minister of Foreign Affairs was also keen to review the current situation of the Egyptian-American relations, and the most important findings of the Egyptian-American contacts during the recent period in connection with joint and continuous coordination on various aspects of bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
