Its third edition was held this year at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center, the Minister of Information, Dr. Abdul Moneim bin Mansour Al Hassani, delivered a speech in which he pointed out that the Omani media achieved a number of achievements in 2018,
The Ministry of Information won the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in Government in Electronic Services as the best government institution for electronic transformation. A number of training programs were carried out inside and outside the Sultanate under the umbrella of the Media Training Center which works in cooperation with the Ministry of Information, the General Authority for Radio and Television, Sultan Qaboos University and a number of Global Information and Training associations.
As part of the partnership with the Government Services Communications Center of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, this partnership resulted in nine meetings in which officials of the media and public relations departments of government institutions met to discuss many issues related to media work.
Dr. Abdul Moneim bin Mansour Al-Hossani pointed out that the Ministry, in cooperation with the General Authority for Radio and Television and the Future Vision Office until 2040, held a seminar on “Information for the Future.” The Sultanate also held a celebration in China on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the beginning of Oman.
Media Academy Competition – 2019 .. Dedicated to electronic media
On the other hand, Dr. Abdul Moneim bin Mansour Al Hassani announced the “Media Skills Development Program” in the Media Training Program, which will be implemented by the Media Training Center this year, as well as the implementation of the “Media Skills” program to qualify the official speakers of the specialized government boards and committees.
He also launched the 2019 Media Competency Competition, which will be dedicated to electronic media, and the competition will be announced for competition.
He also stressed that the Media Dialogue Council will cover the Sultanate’s provinces. The Sultanate will be the guest of honor at the Brunei International Book Fair and a special guest at the Paris International Book Fair, as well as holding many meetings, dialogues and symposia related to informing the future this year.
Strategic partnership
The Minister of Information Dr. Abdul Moneim bin Mansour Al Hassani said that the forum comes in a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Information, the General Authority for Radio and Television, the Ministry of Higher Education and Sultan Qaboos University.
He added that students, media professionals, academics, researchers, professionals and anyone involved in the media profession will be invited to discuss and exchange experiences and expertise in the field of media work.
Oman Media Museum
The Minister of Information said that there is cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Sultan Qaboos University to collect media studies which will be included in the Media Library specialized in the Omani media. A specialized seminar on the media, children and the future was held.
