winger has been voted the Professional Footballers’ Association player of the year for the 2017-18 season.

Salah collected the award in the 45th edition of the ceremony, which was held on Sunday night at Grosvenor House in London, after securing the most votes from his fellow players. The award is voted for by the players from England’s 92 professional clubs in the Premier League and Football League.

He saw off competition from Manchester City trio David Silva, Kevin de Bruyne, and Leroy Sane as well as Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

Although De Bruyne has enjoyed a spectacular season, winning the Premier League with Manchester City and providing 15 assists in the competition, he couldn’t beat Salah to the most prestigious individual award in English football.
