It was feared that Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, would be unfit to participate in the 2018 FIFA World Cup after suffering a shoulder injury in the first-half against Real Madrid.

According to Egyptian Streets, the twenty-five year old was later announced to have suffered a dislocated shoulder, while ongoing speculation continued on whether or not he will be fit to participate in the upcoming World Cup.

However, Liverpool has announced Salah fit to participate in WorldCup on their official website on Thursday.

“Initial fears that Salah would not recover in time to represent his country in Russia were allayed by the EFA on Wednesday evening,” Liverpool added.

“[The] Football Federation reaffirms Salah [will play] in the World Cup hopefully and his absence will not exceed three weeks,” it said.

However, Salah will be incapable of participating in Egypt’s first match at the World Cup against Uruguay which will take place on June 15.

Salah has traveled to Spain on Wednesday to undergo treatment for his injury.

“Mohamed Salah started his treatment programme on Sunday, when he confirmed in a telephone conversation with the technical and administrative staff of the team he was in high spirits and determined to return quickly to the ranks of the team,” the federation mentioned in a statement on its website.

The website also mentioned that the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) is considering launching an official investigation into Salah’s scuffle with Real Madrid player Sergio Ramos who was accused of intentionally attempting to injure Salah during the Champions League final.
