President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy.
Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the meeting dealt with following up on the executive position of a number of projects of the Ministry of Electricity at the level of the Republic. Electricity, as well as the quality of the national electricity grid in general.
The meeting also witnessed the presentation of the position of securing the electrical supply for the national projects for land reclamation at the level of the Republic, especially in Toshka, the New Delta, Sinai and Upper Egypt.
The President was also briefed on the developments of electrical interconnection projects with neighboring countries, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Greece, Cyprus and Italy.
The spokesperson stated that the President directed the continuation of developing the electricity sector, preserving and building on the successes achieved in this regard over the past years, in a way that supports the comprehensive development plan in all sectors, especially industry and agriculture, in addition to continuing to improve the quality of electrical service provided to citizens. In addition to strengthening electrical interconnection projects with neighboring countries in order to achieve mutual economic benefit.
