TEHRAN (FNA)- Terrorists martyred two Basiji (volunteer) forces in Western Iran, local officials said on Thursday.

Anti-revolution groups martyred two Basiji forces in Iran’s Western city of Sarvabad on Thursday, Sarvabad Governor Kouhsar Dadvar said.

“Iraj Adak and Kamal Fathi were martyred when they were on their way back to the base from Kusalan protected area,” he added.

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry announced earlier this month that a terrorist network that had crossed the Western borders into Kermanshah province was dismantled by security forces.

“Members of a separatist terrorist team had been hiding in a house when they were identified and two terrorists were killed in exchanges of fire with the security forces,” the Public Relations of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry said.

The Intelligence Ministry further said that several weapons, hand grenades and other military equipment as well as documents were seized from the foreign-backed terrorists.

It noted that the obtained documents showed that some “reactionary Arab countries of the region” were sponsoring the terrorist team and supporting their planned acts of terror in Kermanshah province.

Also, mid October, Iranian Intelligence Minister Seyed Mahmoud Alavi announced that the country’s security forces had dismantled hundreds of terrorist groups.

The ministry has so far eliminated 300 terrorist groups inside the country, killing hundreds of their members, Alavi said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran on Sunday.

According to the intelligence ministry, Iranian security forces disband dozens of terrorist teams, sponsored by some regional and trans-regional states, every year.
