The head of Suez Canal Authority, Mr. Mohab Mamish, head of general economic authority of Suez Canal, for concluded the end of the championship of five -a -side football of the Authority Thursday 2019, in the presence of Admiral Osama Rabea, Vice Chairman of Suez Canal Authority, Major General Ashraf Imara, Member of the House of Representatives and a number of Board members. The board of directors of the General Club and members of the Board of Directors of the General Club and the heads of clubs and executive committees of the General Club at the golf club in Ismailia.
The tournament witnessed the participation of 26 teams under the age of 40, in addition to 8 teams over the age of 40 representing 10 different departments of the Authority. The total number of players participating in the tournament was 325 players, all of them working in Suez Canal Authority in the cities of Ismailia, Port Said and Suez.
The tournament was launched on 20 April this year, and saw the tournament played 107 games involving a number of strong competition among the teams, especially in the playoffs.
For his part, Mohamed El Sharkawy, head of the General Club, thanked the Admiral, Mohab Mamish, for his full support for sports and social activities, reflecting the Admiral’s interest in the human element and its role in strengthening the links between the employees of the Authority and creating an ideal work environment.
He also thanked the Sports Committee, headed by Dr. Mohab Rifaat, the organizer of the tournament, the Public Relations Committee and the General Club Administration.
Mr Mamish watched the start of the final game over the age, between the teams of Port Said and Port Said Tawfana and ended with the victory of the team Port Said scored eight goals for two goals, and then Admiral Mamish watched the final game between the sub-age between the teams “A&B” which ended in a positive draw with three goals for each team and then spread to the penalty shootout, in which team A could win the Cup championship amid the joy of a large number of players and many fans.
Mr Mamish and the leaders praised the good preparation of the championship, which took place under the supervision of the Sports Committee of the General Club supervised by the chairmanship of Dr.Mahab Rifaat and the membership of Captain Jamil Fathi, Captain Lotfi Melligi and Captain Ahmed Attia, with the assistance and full coordination with the golf club committee headed by captain Ayman Mabrouk.
In the end, Admiral Mamish rewarded the winners the cups and Suez Canal Medals, ratherthan referees Captain Ahmed Saleh and Captain Ali Al Kiki, who managed all the tournament matches successfully.
