In the 35th minute, former Zamalek winger Ibrahim Hassan dribbled past Petrojet’s defence and found John Antwi inside the box with a well-placed cross, however, the striker’s header went just wide off target.
Hassan was once again the centre of attention for Pyramids and just one minute before the half-time whistle, he converted Ragab Bakar’s pass into Abou El-Naga’s bottom corner to double the scoreline.
The Petroleum-side nearly reduced the deficit in the 65th minute through Ahmed Okka, whose curled freekick strike cannoned off El-Mahdy Soliman’s bar.
Pyramids controlled the remainder of the game to book a place in the final against Zamalek.
It is worth mentioning that the final match’s date and venue are yet to be determined.
