The Egyptian-Azerbaijani Academy of Friendship between Peoples celebrated by presenting certificates and gifts to 70 children who memorized parts of the Holy Quran and the text of Tuhfat al-Atfal.
The ceremony began with a speech by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian-Azerbaijani Friendship Association, Dr. Seymur Nasirov, in which he stressed that education is a right for all, and that if we want to rise, we must care about educating children because they are our future, and therefore we pay special attention to their education. There is no doubt that reading and writing are two basic skills that must be taught to children at an early age. Based on this principle, the Egyptian-Azerbaijani Academy of Friendship between Peoples began its first session in teaching children the basics of reading and writing for low-income Egyptian families seeking to develop the linguistic level of their children. The Academy plays an effective role in teaching children reading, writing, the Holy Quran, Arabic calligraphy, vocal maqamat, and even handicrafts such as the art of handmade carpets.
The total number of children studying with us in various activities is 175 children, both boys and girls. Every day, the number of people wishing to join the various activities of the Academy increases, as we have a large waiting list.
Dr. Seymour announced that the Board of Directors of the Association decided to establish a new project affiliated with the Association under the name “The Egyptian-Azerbaijani Academy for Friendship between Peoples”, with the aim of providing certificates and degrees in various sciences and arts in the name of the Academy after the Association’s projects expanded. His Excellency stressed that the Association plays an effective role in strengthening the bonds of friendship between peoples in general and between Egypt and Azerbaijan in particular through its various free activities. For your information, “Friendship between Peoples” is one of the Association’s broad guidelines.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian-Azerbaijani Academy for Friendship between Peoples serves more than 642 male and female students from 59 different nationalities, studying various sciences and arts, most of whom are Egyptian students from several governorates, at the top of which is the Holy Quran with its recitation and its ten consecutive readings, the minor and major, with a continuous chain of transmission to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, the text of Al-Jazariyah, the text of Tuhfat Al-Atfal, and teaching the basics of reading and writing. As well as the sciences of the Arabic language, including grammar, morphology, rhetoric, and logic. In addition to some other languages such as Azerbaijani and English, writing, reading, speaking and listening.
Among the arts, the art of Arabic calligraphy is taught in its various forms throughout the ages, the art of ornamentation in its two aspects, plant and geometric, as well as the art of hand-made carpets and the art of vocal maqams, all of which are completely free of charge.
Dr. Seymour confirmed that the association’s family sees that serving students of science and knowledge and the Egyptian society is a great honor for them, and always seeks to expand its projects.
