The British Ambassador to Egypt, Sir Geoffrey Adams, today toured the UK stands at the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS), which is seeing a strong UK presence with over 40 companies participating.

Over the course of the week, British companies will be signing a number of new agreements with their Egyptian partners in the oil and gas sector.

Yesterday evening, the Ambassador hosted a reception at the British Embassy to welcome the British companies,  and to introduce them to senior figures in the world of Egyptian business and government. Speaking at the reception, Sir Geoffrey Adams said: ‘ The President of Egypt and the Prime Minister of the UK, when they met in London recently, agreed that relations between our two countries should be taken to the next level in all areas. Against that background, this year’s British presence at EGYPS is a brilliant illustration not only of the strong partnerships that already exist in the vital oil and gas sector, but also the readiness of both sides to go further. My congratulations to everyone involved in this exciting work.’
