KSA organizes an electronic program to combat human trafficking

The Commission for Combating Human Trafficking at the Human Rights Commission last Wednesday organized an electronic-distance training program on the implementation of the national referral mechanism to combat human trafficking in the regions of the Kingdom, in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for the States of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
73 participants from various ministries and agencies in the Kingdom take part in the  two-day training program , as well as some civil society organizations related to assisting the victims.
Dr. Muhannad Al-Dweikat discusses the training program presented by the international expert in combating human trafficking, the expert of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime ; a number of axes are the concept of trafficking in persons according to the Saudi national system, the international protocol and the Saudi legal system to combat trafficking in persons in 2009 and the guidelines for the protection and assistance of victims, the national referral mechanism to combat trafficking in persons in the Kingdom, starting with the identification of victims through accommodation, official identification, protection, assistance, voluntary return and reintegration, as well as how to arrange among the different parties for the application of the national referral mechanism.
The training program comes within the cooperation agreement between the Human Rights Commission and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council to embody the development of its system of coordination and cooperation between the various entities.
