President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev conveys heartfelt condolences to Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun for tragic explosion accident.
“I was deeply saddened by the news of mass casualties and destruction in the wake of a horrible explosion in the city of Beirut.
In this difficult time, I wish to note that the people of Azerbaijan are in solidarity with the Lebanese people. The Republic of Azerbaijan will render financial aid to the friendly Republic of Lebanon to help eliminate the consequences of this tragedy.
I offer heartfelt condolences to You, the families of the victims and the people of Lebanon and wish a speedy recovery to the injured, said the President.
Furthermore, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov signed a decree on provision of financial assistance to Lebanon. The decree said that taking into account Lebanon’s need for humanitarian aid to eliminate the consequences of the tragedy, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made a decision to allocate $1 million to provide Lebanon with financial assistance.
