Representatives from Germany, Egypt, Britain, Italy and Greece participated in the commemoration of the Battle of El Alamein and the memorial of the thousands of soldiers who fell in this battle. This year’s celebrations organized by Germany aim to recall the horrors of World War II and at the same time urge the preservation of peace and peace. Ambassador Hartmann said in a speech on this occasion: “Today, after eighty years, the enemies of yesterday stand together as friends and partners. Eighty years after the Battle of El Alamein, the war returns to Europe again. Europe and the world are threatened by a destructive war waged by Russia against Ukraine, confiscating the right of the Ukrainian people to Existence and the right to self-determination We stand united in solidarity with the Ukrainian people who defend their freedom, our freedom, our democracy and our democracy against aggression. We have a responsibility towards history and mourn for the dead, and even more than that, we have a responsibility towards the present and future of humanity. It is worth noting that in 1942, the Allied forces were able to reach El Alamein and repel the advance of German forces and their Italian allies in North Africa, thus making a turning point in the course of World War II. More than 11,000 soldiers fell in this battle on both sides. It should be noted that a number of diplomats, politicians and military personnel from the countries that participated in this battle commemorate this anniversary annually by holding a ceremony reminiscent of those events. The joint memorial service brings together the enemies of yesterday and the allies of today to stand together for peace and the establishment of a stable world order and the opponents of war. This message, especially now, has not lost any of its presence and influence.
