The Prime Minister conveyed his greetings and good wishes to President Donald Trump and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with the U.S. Administration on all matters of mutual interest.

The Prime Minister shared Pakistan’s perspective on recent developments in South Asia following the Pahalgam incident. He condemned terrorism in all forms and reiterated Pakistan’s significant contributions in the fight against terrorism, highlighting over 90,000 lives lost and more than USD 152 billion in economic losses.

Expressing concern over India’s recent provocations, the Prime Minister warned that such actions undermine Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts, particularly against ISKP, TTP, and BLA elements operating from Afghan territory. He firmly rejected attempts to link Pakistan to the incident and reiterated his call for a transparent, credible, and impartial investigation.

The Prime Minister also criticized India’s weaponization of water resources, which threaten the livelihoods of 240 million Pakistanis, emphasizing that the Indus Waters Treaty does not permit unilateral withdrawal.

He underscored that a peaceful resolution of the Jammu & Kashmir dispute remains essential for lasting peace in South Asia.

On bilateral ties, the Prime Minister noted the historic partnership between Pakistan and the United States, stressing opportunities for deeper cooperation in counter-terrorism and economic sectors—particularly in minerals and energy. He briefed the Secretary on Pakistan’s recent economic reforms and the resulting positive trajectory.

Secretary Rubio appreciated the Prime Minister’s candid views and emphasized the importance of continued engagement to promote peace and stability in the region.
