Saudi ambassador receives immigration minister to discuss an Egyptian Sentenced to death

Minister of Immigration, Ambassador Nabila Makram, said that the ministry continues to follow closely the case of the Egyptian citizen Ali Abdel-Wareth Abdul Qader Mustafa, who is sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia and is held in Tabuk General Prison for drug charges and sentenced to death.

The Minister of Immigration yesterday paid a visit to the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Cairo and the Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League, Ambassador Usama Nqali, in the framework of the official and popular relations between the two countries which are represented in the continuous cooperation and coordination and reaffirmed the respect of the Saudi judiciary and confidence in its procedures. The arrival of the papers sent by the Office of the Attorney General of Egypt, and the case concerns the Egyptian citizen to the judicial authorities in the Kingdom.

For his part, the ambassador conveyed to the Minister of Immigration his sincere condolences on the killing of the young pharmacist in Jizan last weekend, stressing his confidence in the Saudi judiciary and his integrity, praising the exceptional relations between the two countries.

In an official statement this morning, the Minister of Immigration stressed that all Egyptian parties are working with all their resolve in this matter until the truth becomes clear and all the official papers relating to the investigations are reached by the Kingdom’s investigative authorities. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, The Attorney General, and the Engineers Syndicate in following up the case and the position of the Egyptian citizen.

Ambassador Nabila Makram pointed to the follow-up to the investigations conducted by the competent Egyptian authorities in this regard, the consular general notes of the Saudi side, and what has been done with all care and consideration by the Consulate General in implementing the requests of the Egyptian Public Prosecution for judicial assistance referred to.

Ambassador Nabila Makram expressed her thanks to the efforts of the Egyptian consulate in Saudi Arabia for what it has done during the last period to follow up the case. She worked on sending the assets of these records and investigations immediately after receiving them officially after being approved by the Consulate General to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send copies of those records to the Court of Appeal directly, after coordination with the Director of the Office of the President of the Court of Appeal, and to send a delegation from the consulate to confirm the arrival of such documents to the Court, where he confirmed receipt and in light of the Friendly with which the Saudi nourish side.

The minister added that she had previously met Engineer Hani Dahi, the head of the Engineers Syndicate, and met the Egyptian Attorney General, and continued with the Saudi Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian Consulate General in Riyadh, where she continued to provide the consulate with the results of investigations conducted by the Egyptian Public Prosecution in a case related to the ongoing investigations in Saudi Arabia Which is already done. The consulate confirms that there is no complacency or delay in doing everything possible to help the Egyptian citizen, and take all necessary measures to deliver all documents and procedures conducted by the Egyptian Public Prosecution to the Court of Appeal.

Ambassador Nabila Makram stressed that the Egyptian authorities are continuing to follow up this issue and did not spare any effort to provide all necessary assistance to the Egyptian citizen, either by official means or by its friendly relations with the Saudi side.
