The Rabat-based Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, an Al-Quds Committee affiliate, announced its work program in Jerusalem for the year 2023, allocating about 3.4 million US dollars for a host of projects for social support, human development, health, education, reconstruction, trade, agriculture, cultural and artistic revitalization, media, sports, youth and childhood.
The Agency has also allocated an exceptional budget for its Silver Jubilee celebration, funded entirely by the Kingdom of Morocco. Celebrations had kicked off on January 20 and will continue throughout the current year, under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, under the slogan: “A new beginning to consolidate the status of Jerusalem and its religious and cultural standings.”
Under the Agency’s plan for this year, social support projects have a special priority to help some segments of Jerusalemite society overcome the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the repercussions of hikes in prices as a result of the global economic crisis, in accordance with the outcomes of the second consultative meeting, which was held last month in Rabat on the subject: “A model for sustainable development in Jerusalem?” with the participation of the Assistant Secretaries-General in charge of the Jerusalem and Palestine file from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League, in addition to Islamic and Christian religious authorities, university presidents, and representatives of a number of social and economic institutions in Jerusalem.
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency announced it will be participating on Sunday in Cairo in the “Al-Quds 2023: Enhancing Resilience, Development and Investment” conference, which is hosted by the Arab League, during which it will present a report on the outcome of its programs, activities and prospects for its work in Jerusalem in the next phase.
