KSA participates in the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries held in Qatar

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is participating in the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, which will be hosted by the Qatari capital, Doha, from March 5 to 9, 2023.

The Kingdom’s delegation participating in the conference is headed by His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Planning, Mr. Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim, who will deliver the Kingdom’s speech at the conference, while the delegation will include representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Saudi Fund for Development, the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, and the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief.

The Kingdom’s delegation will participate in a number of plenary sessions and high-level meetings, and the delegation will host three side events throughout the conference, while His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Planning will hold meetings with senior officials to discuss areas of cooperation to promote economic development in the least developed countries.

During the conference, new initiatives are expected to be announced to help address the challenges facing LDCs.

Saudi Arabia is a major contributor of development assistance to many of these countries, in line with the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
