The Agency for Security, Safety and Responding to Emergencies and Risks of the General Presidency of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque has provided more than 500 civil security personnel to serve visitors to the Grand Holy Mosque, in order to maintain order at the main entrances, monitor the organisation and management of crowds, ensure safety inside the Grand Mosque, and make all corridors leading to the tawaf area ready to receive worshippers, from arrival from the squares and doors of the Grand Mosque until their departure, all while communicating with relevant authorities.
The agency carries out many other tasks through qualified and trained local personnel, monitoring the conduct of security and safety operations, protecting individuals and monitoring the public utilities to detect possible hazards, including the effectiveness of fire protection systems, following-up on their periodic maintenance, ensuring that pedestrian roads are safe and free of anything that could impede the movement of worshippers during the performance of their rituals, and having a weather plan ready.
Also, 15 security personnel speaking different foreign languages, including Chinese, Sri Lankan, Urdu, Hausa, Persian, English, and Turkish, are available to serve visitors to the Grand Holy Mosque in the best possible way.
