According to a Turkish source, the President of Azerbaijan, Mr Ilham Aliyev, who could have persuaded Sinan Ogan, the third-place finisher in the Turkish presidential elections to support President Recep Tayyip Erdogan facing the opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu in the second round of the presidential elections scheduled Sunday, May 28.
This comes by the virtue of the close friendly relationship that binds the Azerbaijani president Mr Aliyev to both the Turkish President Recep Erdogan and at the same time to presidential candidate Sinan Ogan.
It is worth noting that in the first round, Erdogan won 49.5% of the vote, and his opponent, the Social Democrat Kilicdaroglu, won 44.9%.
