The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) organized the third edition of the periodic cultural event “Hello Korea” during the current year, as it provided glimpses of Korean culture to the attendees through the experience of Korean arts, music and food.

The participants, who mainly consisted of trainees of the taekwondo course organized by the center, had the opportunity to explore the elements of Korean culture through a range of activities, including playing a number of Korean and Egyptian folk music pieces performed by the “ANE” band, which is composed of Egyptian and Korean musicians.

In addition, they enjoyed an in-depth tour of the Korean Traditional Culture exhibition in the center’s lobby that took them on a journey through the past to explore Korea and the daily lives of the Korean people.

Participants were later invited to try on traditional Korean clothing “Hanbok”, a Korean costume made of bright colors that resembles traditional Egyptian clothing in its vibrant colours. The attendees also visited the library of the Korean Cultural Center and learned how to write their names in the Korean alphabet “Hangul”.

Finally, the participants had the opportunity to experience Korean cuisine, where they enjoyed eating traditional dishes such as dokbokki and bibimbap.

For his part, Oh Sung Ho, director of the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt, said that the center plans to organize a week of Korean culture in the coming period in order to provide an opportunity for many Egyptians to experience Korean culture directly, which contributes to enhancing understanding and cultural exchange between the two countries.
