“Riyadh Art” receives artists’ requests to participate in the “Tuwaiq Sculpture Forum 2024” next January

The “Riyadh Art Program” announced the holding of the “fifth” edition of the “Tuwaiq Sculpture Forum” for the year 2024 AD, during the period from January 14 to February 24, 2024 AD, under the slogan “Dimensions in Motion”, which brings together elite sculptors from the Kingdom and around the world, to create public artistic sculptures using stones from the Kingdom to be part of the cultural artistic scene of the capital, Riyadh.
The program revealed that it has started receiving artists’ requests to participate in the “fifth” edition of the forum, starting from Sunday, July 23, 2023 AD until August 31, 2023 AD, which is one of the projects of the “Riyadh Art Program” and one of the major Riyadh projects launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God support him – on March 19, 2019 AD, under the leadership and supervision of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh. God.
The committee includes: the artist and architect specialized in the roots of the architectural identity of Saudi heritage and co-founder of “Cine Architects” and “Umm Salim Collective” Nujoud Al-Sudairi, the co-curator of the Tuwaiq Sculpture Forum 2024, sculptor and assistant professor of art education at King Saud University Dr. The Courtald Gallery at the University of Cambridge and the Henry Moore Foundation in the UK are Sebastiano Barassi, curator of the Tuwaiq Sculpture Forum 2024, and chair of the jury at the forum, Marek Wolinsky.
For his part, the Executive Director of the “Riyadh Art” program, Engineer Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Hazani, explained that the works and events of the Tuwaiq Sculpture Forum are part of the “Riyadh Art” program, which aims to improve the quality of life of the city’s residents and visitors and spread joy and happiness in their daily lives. Their impact on the cultural scene of the capital.
Al-Hazani added that all sculptures and works of art that are implemented in the forum will be seen permanently in squares and public areas throughout the city of Riyadh.
