Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, confirmed that the cooperation agreement aims to strengthen relations and bonds of friendship and understanding between Cairo Governorate and the city of Sarajevo in the fields of culture, science, arts, education, health, tourism, sports, environment, and trade relations, through the exchange of delegations and experiences and the organization of exhibitions. Festivals, seminars, conferences and research participation.

The Governor of Cairo added that the signing of the fraternity agreement reflects the depth of relations between the two countries, and the aspiration of the two capitals, Cairo and Sarajevo, to increase the areas of cooperation, stressing that the delegation will be acquainted during its visit with the results of what Cairo witnessed of a modern renaissance over the past ten years in Egypt, in various fields during the era of the Republic. The new, based on the 17 United Nations goals for sustainable development, as well as in light of Egypt’s Vision 2030 under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, through which Cairo was able to achieve many different achievements aimed at improving the living conditions of its residents, and achieving the quality of life of citizens from all walks of life. aspects.

During the meeting, the Governor of Cairo reviewed the achievements made on the land of Egypt, represented in overcoming its biggest chronic problems, the most important of which are the slums that have turned into new civilized societies. The new administrative, in addition to expanding the establishment of the largest network of various axes in order to overcome traffic jams, which contributes to improving the level of various services in it, as well as investment and sustainable development, as well as interest in developing tourist destinations, in which old shrines were revived and renewed, such as the Sur Magra Al-Ayoun area, and currently The Fustat Hills project on an area of 500 acres, and other development projects, as well as preserving the Islamic, Christian and Jewish religious heritage, developing the complex of religions and reviving the path of the Holy Family.

Major General Khaled Abdel-Aal pointed out that Cairo is considered an open museum, as it brings together a diverse mixture of all different cultures and civilizations, Islamic, Coptic, Pharaonic, Greek, Roman and Jewish, and it was a meeting place for many races that fused with it and formed its distinct culture.

With the change of different eras throughout history, many handicrafts flourished in Cairo, adding that the capital launched a serious process to revive the heritage represented in handicrafts along with the modern renaissance that is currently taking place, indicating that the Cairo Governorate seeks to provide the necessary support through funding and training on the basis of up-to-date to maintain these crafts.

The governor of Cairo indicated that in addition to all of the above, the governorate provides places and exhibitions to display the products of handicraft industries and gives priority to these handicraft industries by participating in local and international exhibitions in an effort to promote them and achieve appropriate marketing for their owners. with civil society.

And Mrs. d. Binjamina Karic, Mayor of Sarajevo, expressed her thanks to Egypt for the support it provided to her country in difficult circumstances, stressing that there is a great cultural history between the two countries and that this agreement is a step on the road to strengthening cooperation between the two capitals.
