The stadiums of King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal City, which will host the 2023 Club World Cup (CWC) competitions, have been completed in Jeddah Governorate, during the period 12-22 December, with the participation of the 7 highest-ranked clubs in the continental federations and the country’s representative.
In the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, a general development of the city was completed on an area of more than 4,470 square metres, and this included (the media center – the media area – the players’ entry areas), in addition to developing security points for fans to enter on an area of more than 2,550 square metres. The score screens and ticker screens were replaced with a total area of 1,081 square metres, and the artificial turf was replaced with an area of 39,000 square metres. A fan zone was also created for ticket holders and can accommodate more than 12,500 fans.
Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal City Stadium was also developed, where general development work was completed on an area estimated at 60,000 square metres, and this included (the press conference hall – media areas – players’ entrances – the bench), and more than 22,726 of the city’s stadium chairs were replaced. Developing surveillance systems and improving the general appearance with artificial turf on an area of 16,000 square metres, in addition to the audience area, which can accommodate more than 6,500 fans, as it will be available only during matches hosted by the stadium.
The lighting for the two stadiums, in addition to the training fields, was also upgraded by adding 1,367 lighting units and more than 400 television broadcast points, in addition to updating the public ticket system and increasing the number of electronic gates, as their number in the two stadiums reached more than 200 gates. Transportation work was also coordinated. frequency to two pitches; The first flight will start four hours before the match, while the last frequency transportation flights will be two hours after the match, through the two points, “Midas parking in front of Red Sea Mall and Haifa Mall parking.”
It is noteworthy that the teams participating in this global tournament, in addition to Al-Ittihad, are Auckland City of New Zealand, Manchester City of England, Al-Ahly of Egypt, Leon of Mexico, Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan, and Fluminense of Brazil.
