At UN.. KSA strongly stresses end of Gaza war and reaches a just and sustainable solution

  His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech in which he stressed the deteriorating situation and the escalation of tension in Gaza as a result of the continued Israeli aggression, and the continued fall of casualties due to the widespread indiscriminate bombing of the Israeli war machine, and the numbers are constantly rising, and the necessity of serious action to end this tragedy, and to take concrete steps to stop the killing of civilians.   His Excellency pointed out that this war is clear to the world, and that its effects are a shared responsibility, stressing that the Kingdom warned of the expansion of the conflict and its impact on regional and international security and stability, and our priority is clearly to alleviate human suffering and end the military operations in Palestine, and the operations witnessed in the Red Sea region and the Republic of Yemen.   He also stressed the need to take the necessary measures to contain the repercussions of this crisis on neighboring countries and on international peace and security, and to reach a just and sustainable solution.

  His Excellency said: “We strongly reject linking this war under the pretext of self-defense, and we also reject the forced displacement of the population of Gaza, and that what is happening is an unacceptable disregard for Palestinian human life, making it vulnerable to periodic recurrence of violence without positive preparation on the near horizon.”

  He added that the Kingdom will continue to seek and foster peace, devoting its efforts to everything that will bring peace and security to the region. It also categorically rejects violations of international and humanitarian law by any party and under any pretext, and calls on the Council to take a firm stance to oblige the Israeli occupation forces to respect international law and end this suffering. And the establishment of an independent Palestinian state that guarantees the rights and dignity of its people.

  The session was attended by the Kingdom’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Mohammed Al-Ateeq, and the Director-General of the Office of the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mutashar Al-Anazi.
