Ambassador Ajit Gupte, Indian Ambassador to Cairo, praised the role of graduates of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program, who played an important role in strengthening relations between India and Egypt.

The Indian ambassador added, during his speech on the occasion of the celebration of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program 2024, that the common cultural and commercial history of Egypt and India reflects the depth of relations between the two countries, noting that relations between the two countries gained unprecedented momentum in 2023 thanks to high-level visits that began with the visit of President Abdel Fattah. Al-Sisi and his participation as the main guest in India’s Republic Day celebration on January 26, 2023 and the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Cairo in June of the same year.

Gupte pointed to the remarkable development witnessed by relations in the field of trade and investment, as the value of bilateral trade reached high levels, and we witnessed an expansion in the investments of Indian companies in Egypt, pointing to the success of the cooperation program in providing multifaceted support for relations between the two countries in areas such as education, training and technology. Gupte expressed his welcome to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, and the prominent figures who participated in the celebration.

He said: We are proud of the positive contributions made by program graduates in various fields, and we hope to continue strengthening these strong relations between India and Egypt in the future.

In his speech, the Minister of Higher Education stressed the depth of the strong relations and ties that bring Egypt and India together, especially in the fields related to culture, education and technology, pointing out that the (ITEC) program is a testimony to the strong permanent bond between the two countries, and a means to enhance capacity building and human resources development in the country. Dr. Ayman Ashour explained that through ITEC, a large number of Egyptian professionals have had the opportunity to enhance their expertise in various fields, including (agriculture, health care, information technology, and renewable energy), and the impact of this program extends beyond the participants. individuals, which positively impacts the social and economic landscape.
