After the workshops, the Ambassador inaugurated an art exhibition produced by the Photography Department of Assiut, with an abundance of talent on display.
The Ambassador also planted a mango tree and an olive tree, as part of Assiut University’s campaign to establish a greener campus, with the eventual goal of zero carbon emissions. We very much hope to return soon to check on their progress!
Subsequently, the Ambassador met with the President of the University, Ahmed El Minshawy. They discussed expanding practical collaboration in the fields of technical education and sustainable development. As an expert from the university aptly stated, “ sustainability is not just something to learn, it’s something to live” and the EU is determined to pursue its ambitious goals for a climate neutral EU by 2050 and to support climate related action throughout the world, hand in hand with partners such as Assiut University.
