While hosting a Ramadan Iftar banquet today at their residence near the great Nile of Egypt, Ambassador Christian Berger and his wife received their guests in their residence just to say, “Bonne appetite” as Ramadan is the distinguished and blessing month to Muslims.

Mr ambassador gave statements that served as an appetizer and a sweet treat after firing the Ramadan Cannon, marking a brainstorming on the content of current events regionally and internationally and the inter-relations between Egypt and the European Union.

In fact, Ambassador Christian Berger’s keenness to meet with journalists on regular times to discuss the regional and international events closely has resulted in a noticeable change in the position of the Western society, including the European Union and the United States of America, towards the Palestinian issue and the bloody situation in Gaza.

In a journalist conference about two months ago, the journalists (AldiploMasy) told Mr Berger that NetanYahu writes the end of the Western regimes politically for supporting the Israeli government politically and military blindly particularly since October 7 2023 and the extremist NetanYahu government commit genocide crime. Thus, thanks to Mr ambassador Berger for posting the message and we harvest its fruitful results nowadays after the notable transfer of the West towards Gaza, esp. the civilians.

As for Ambassador Berger’s talk today about Egypt, His Excellency praised Egypt’s role, as it is solely responsible for delivering humanitarian aid to the victims of Gaza for nearly seven months now, and this is one of the reasons for strengthening the partnership between Egypt and the European Union recently, which amounted to 7.4 billion euros for three years starting from 2024 to 2027. Hence the idea of holding an economic conference between Egypt and the European Union next June, given its remarkable security uniqueness regionally and continentally.

Regionally, Ambassador Berger stressed that the idea of forced displacement of Egypt is completely rejected by the European Union and that the two-state solution according to the 1967 borders is optimal for all parties. The European Union recently provided 50 million euros to UNRWA for the benefit of the Palestinians.

Internationally, Ambassador Berger described Resolution No. 2728 issued by the Security Council as historic, as it is the first time in the history of the United Nations regarding Palestine. Although it is not binding on Israel, it is a strong message to Israel for the first time and the United States abstained from voting in favor of Israel.

Regarding the European position on Libya and Sudan, Berger expressed his hope that stability will prevail in the two countries in the near future in accordance with the ongoing cooperation between Egypt and the European Union in this framework.
