Riyadh – The Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority is preparing to organize the second session of the Madinah Book Fair. Which is scheduled to open its doors to visitors on Thursday, May 18, in the southern region of the King Salman International Exhibition and Convention Center in Medina; To present to its visitors over a period of 10 days a diverse cultural program covering various literary, knowledge and scientific fields, following the success achieved by the exhibition in its first session last year, during which more than 60 thousand titles were presented, and with the participation of more than 200 publishing houses representing 13 countries, in the presence of He was a big fan of reading and knowledge of Taiba and its visitors.

The current edition of the exhibition will witness the presence of more than 300 local, Arab and international publishing houses on an area of more than 15,000 square metres, giving visitors the opportunity to meet writers, creators and writers, within a rich cultural program between dialogue sessions, poetry evenings by elite poets of Nabati and classical poetry, plays, And meetings in the “talk of the book” with well-known authors, which will delve into what is not written in the lines of books, and read between the lines and ideas; During which the writer answers what is going on in the minds of his readers, in addition to the platforms for signing books; Through it, writers will meet readers, and visitors will be able to obtain special gifts and purchase modern and distinguished publications.

The dialogue sessions will enrich the fields of literature, knowledge and science, as they discuss local and international contemporary issues, interspersed with cultural seminars and lectures, as well as dedicated workshops that will enrich the forum on various topics, and revolve around a number of areas of interest to visitors, at a time when the exhibition will allow for the first time, Workshops for the deaf and dumb; To meet their needs and benefit from their skills, and to qualify the community to deal with this group and support their parents.

The exhibition hosts a children’s area full of dozens of literary and cultural activities that enhance the creative abilities of children and adolescents, and aims to inspire them and develop their love of reading and curiosity, and enhance the reading side in modern and innovative ways, and strengthen self-confidence, including walls and interactive games, and a theater for reading the story, and showing puppet plays and competitions. collective, a labyrinth that includes cognitive puzzles, a “Me and My Family” corner for the child and his parents to participate in solving competitions and challenges, corners for storytelling and crafting, as well as workshops that help them hone their skills and develop their abilities in the areas of critical and creative thinking, drawing and coloring the story, acting and theatrical performance, and crafts Handicrafts such as making books, recycling arts, etc., making and designing characters, literary and poetic writing, developing reading skills, and improving calligraphy and writing.

The Medina Book Fair 2023 comes as the second book fair in the Kingdom for this year, which is organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority in various regions of the Kingdom. To reach a large segment of reading and knowledge lovers, as it was preceded by the Eastern Book Fair last March, and is expected to be followed by book fairs in other cities during the current year as part of the “Book Fairs” initiative, one of the Authority’s strategic initiatives.
