The celebration was held in the presence of Engineer Sabry Al-Ashmawy, President of the Dam Builders Association, Engineer Abdel Hakim Gamal Abdel Nasser, Dr. Ibrahim Kamel, President of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, Dr. Fathi Toghan, Secretary-General, and Dr. Gamal. Hassan, former First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Abbas Sharaqi, Professor at Cairo University, and Denis Bronnikov on behalf of Murad Gatin, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, where Engineer Sabry Al-Ashmawy, Dr. Ibrahim Kamel and Sherif Gad honored the name of the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser with the association’s shield. Egyptian-Russian Friendship The shield was received by Engineer Abdel Hakim Gamal Abdel Nasser, son of the late leader, who affirmed the pride of President Abdel Nasser’s family in this honor that comes from the builders of the High Dam and the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association. At the end of the celebration, the Russian Cultural Center Choral Band, led by Maestro Louisa Plidjiants, performed a group of Russian folk songs.
