At the annual Iftar of Ramadan, ambassador Elkhan Polukhov announced that Azerbaijan enjoys a strong relationship with Egypt, and there is coordination on international issues and in international forums.
He added, during the embassy’s iftar for journalists, that Azerbaijan has hosted international events, including the massive COP29 conference under the auspices of the United Nations, which was attended by hundreds of presidents, ministers, researchers, businessmen, and climate experts. Important recommendations were made to improve the climate and halt environmental degradation.
Azerbaijan also participated in the recently held Group of Eight (G8) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which aims to strengthen economic relations and effective cooperation between these countries in light of pressing international issues such as the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Ambassador Polukhov added that development in Azerbaijan, especially in the Karabakh region, is progressing apace after the victorious liberation war in 2020. We have recorded high development rates according to the established plans overseen by President Ilham Aliyev and the government. Azerbaijan opens its universities to Egyptian students to study modern sciences. Cultural relations are progressing well, as are economic and trade relations.
