Vice Chairman of the Russian Duma Alexander Babakov met with Egyptian House of Representatives Speaker Counselor Dr. Hanafi Gebali in Cairo. The negotiations focused primarily on developing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries with the aim of providing legislative support for economic and industrial cooperation between Russia and Egypt.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral cooperation. Both parties affirmed their commitment to regular exchanges of delegations and establishing an ongoing dialogue on issues of industrial development, energy, and trade.
Alexander Babakov conveyed to Hanafi Gebali the best wishes of Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
Following the meeting, both parties affirmed their interest in further developing parliamentary contacts as an important tool for deepening the strategic partnership between Russia and Egypt.
