The 2025 Korean Ambassador’s Taekwondo Championship came to a spirited close at Hall No. 1 of Cairo International Stadium, marking a day of intense competition and vibrant cultural exchange that brought together hundreds of athletes, coaches, and Taekwondo enthusiasts from across Egypt.
The championship was jointly organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Egypt, the Korean Cultural Center, and the Egyptian Taekwondo Federation, with support from the Korea Taekwondo Promotion Foundation. It was held under the patronage of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Egypt, celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The event featured dynamic competitions across 18 weight categories for juniors and adults, showcasing the growing skill and passion for Taekwondo in Egypt.
The opening ceremony dazzled the audience with a breathtaking performance by the world-renowned Kukkiwon Demonstration Team, the global headquarters of Taekwondo. Their precision, artistry, and discipline left spectators in awe, blending sport and culture into an unforgettable spectacle. The performance also marked the beginning of the team’s regional tour, which will continue in Tunisia and Morocco.
“This championship is not just a sporting event,” said Oh Sung Ho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt. “It is a celebration of friendship and shared values between Korea and Egypt. Through Taekwondo, we continue to build bridges of understanding and cooperation between our peoples.”
