Ismailia _ Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, Admiral Osama Rabie, met with Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare and Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, to discuss enhanced cooperation in delivering medical services to SCA employees.
During the meeting, both parties agreed on joint procedures to facilitate medical examinations for new hires, injury and disability assessments, and the establishment of on-site medical committees at SCA workplaces. These efforts aim to reduce the burden on employees and streamline healthcare access.
Admiral Rabie expressed appreciation for the Healthcare Authority’s efforts to develop an advanced healthcare system and reiterated the SCA’s commitment to providing the technical and logistical support needed to set up healthcare offices at key canal sites. He also noted the significant progress in SCA’s own medical services, including the construction of a new surgery building at “Hospital No. 6”.
Dr. El-Sobky praised the Suez Canal Authority’s national role and affirmed that cooperation between the two entities reflects institutional integration and supports Egypt’s goal of developing a robust healthcare system. He emphasized the importance of adapting services to the unique needs of SCA employees and called for the swift formalization of agreements through a joint cooperation protocol, including the creation of a professional illness database.
