Five Kazakhstani tennis players have advanced to the second round of the prestigious Roland Garros tournament in Paris, showcasing a strong start for the Central Asian nation, Kazinform reports via Olympic.kz.
Men’s Singles:
- Alexander Bublik swept past Australia’s James Duckworth 6-2, 6-4, 6-3. He will next face world No. 9, Alex de Minaur.
- Alexander Shevchenko secured victory over Serbia’s Dusan Lajovic 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) and is set to meet American Ethan Quinn in the next round.

Women’s Singles:
- Elena Rybakina, ranked fourth, defeated Argentina’s Julia Riera 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. She will next play against American Iva Jovic.
- Yulia Putintseva triumphed over Argentina’s Solana Sierra 7-6 (4), 6-2. She will face Joanna Garland of Taipei in Round 2.
Women’s Doubles:
- Anna Danilina, partnering with Serbia’s Aleksandra Krunic, overcame the duo of Magda Linette (Poland) and Bernarda Pera (USA) 6-7, 6-1, 6-4. Their next opponents are yet to be confirmed.

Separately, Sandugash Kenzhibayeva added to Kazakhstan’s tennis success by winning the doubles title at the ITF W15 Maanshan tournament in China.
