Sorab, Balochistan — May 30, 2025

Sorab city witnessed a tragic act of terrorism this evening as approximately 50 armed militants stormed the city on motorcycles, unleashing violence and destruction.

According to local authorities, the attackers are believed to be affiliated with the banned separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which officials allege receives backing from foreign intelligence networks.

The militants targeted civilian infrastructure, looting a bank, vandalizing markets, and setting fire to residential areas. Eyewitnesses report assaults on women and children, with homes deliberately torched—an egregious violation of Baloch cultural values, where deep respect for women and family sanctity is foundational.

In the line of duty, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADC-R) Hidayatullah Baloidi, a native of Buleda, embraced martyrdom while heroically protecting local families. His sacrifice stands as a symbol of the unwavering commitment to both state integrity and Baloch honor.

Security forces responded promptly to the assault. Upon their arrival, the attackers fled the scene. A comprehensive clearance operation is currently underway, with intelligence-led efforts focused on apprehending those responsible.

This heinous incident reinforces the reality that extremist elements such as the BLA do not represent the interests or rights of the Baloch people. Instead, they stand as a threat to the lives, traditions, and values of the very communities they claim to defend.

Pakistan’s state institutions affirm their resolve to bring all perpetrators and their foreign sponsors to justice. In this time of trial, the people of Balochistan and the security forces remain united—prepared to defend peace and uphold the dignity of their land.
