Cairo Hosts Workshop on Saudi Construction Sector in Cooperation with Egyptian Contractors Union

A high-level workshop on the Saudi construction sector was held in Cairo, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, and the Saudi Contractors Authority, in collaboration with the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors.

The event showcased key projects under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, detailed facilitations for foreign investors, and explained the contractor classification mechanism in the Kingdom, aiming to foster bilateral cooperation in the construction domain.

Notable attendees included:

  • Mohammed Al-Abahussain, Deputy Minister of Investment for Integrated Investor Services.
  • Abdulrahman Al-Orainey, Deputy Minister of Municipal and Housing Affairs for Urban Operators Regulation.
  • Mohammed Al-Ajlan, Chairman of the Saudi Contractors Authority.
  • Anwar Bin Hassousa, Commercial Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in Cairo.

Six Egyptian companies received official investment registration certificates, authorizing their operation in the Saudi construction sector — a significant step reflecting Saudi Arabia’s openness to regional partnership.

On the sidelines, the Saudi delegation met with senior Egyptian officials:

  • Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities.
  • Hossam Heiba, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones.
  • Khaled Abbas, Chairman of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD).
