Chinese President Xi Jinping and Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso sent congratulatory messages to the Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of FOCAC Follow-up Actions, held Wednesday in Changsha, central China’s Hunan Province.
President Xi emphasized that amid global instability, Chinese modernization offers new opportunities to the world and fresh momentum for Global South partners, particularly Africa. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to advancing mutual development by launching a China-Africa Economic Partnership for Shared Development, including a zero-tariff policy covering 100% of tariff lines for 53 African countries with diplomatic ties to China.
Xi also underscored China’s readiness to facilitate African exports, especially from least developed countries, and to intensify cooperation in ten key modernization initiatives. These include green industry, e-commerce, e-payment, science and technology, and artificial intelligence, alongside support in security, finance, and the rule of law—all geared toward promoting high-quality China-Africa cooperation.
