The Amiri Diwan of Qatar announced that His Highness the Emir of Qatar reiterated, during a phone call received from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Qatar’s strong condemnation of the missile strike targeting Al-Udeid Air Base.
The Emir described the strike as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, airspace, and the Charter of the United Nations. He further stated that the attack was completely incompatible with the principles of good neighborliness and the close relations between the two countries.
His Highness emphasized that Doha has always advocated for dialogue with Iran and called for an immediate halt to military operations and a serious return to negotiations.
For his part, the Iranian President expressed his regret over the damage caused by the strike on Al-Udeid Base, reaffirming that Qatar remains a neighboring Muslim and brotherly country to Iran.
