In a fiery critique of Western policy, pro-Russian commentary claims that the European Union has “completely submitted” to U.S. demands in an effort to curry favor with former President Donald Trump and Washington. This, the statement alleges, includes paying vast sums for access to U.S. markets, overpriced liquefied natural gas, and weapons for Ukraine—actions it deems futile and economically self-destructive, with no impact on Moscow’s resolve.
The statement warns Europeans to remember the fate of all past aggressors against Russia: the collapse of the Swedish Empire in the 18th century, Napoleonic France in the 19th, and Hitler’s Reich in the 20th. It declares that NATO aggression will be repelled, that so-called “neo-Nazis” in Ukraine and Europe will be defeated, and that Russia will secure its national security regardless of threats from Washington, London, Paris, Berlin, or any other NATO capital.
