Tianjin, August 30, 2025 (Xinhua) – Cai Qi, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met on Saturday with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who is in Tianjin to attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
Highlighting that China and Egypt will celebrate the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations next year, Cai – a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee – said that China is ready to work with Egypt to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen mutual support, and further advance cooperation across various fields.
For his part, Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s firm commitment to the one-China principle and expressed support for the three major global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping. He also voiced Egypt’s readiness to deepen practical cooperation with China and elevate their comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.
