The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohamed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, welcomed the announcement that the formation of a Palestinian technocratic committee to administer the Gaza Strip has been completed, describing it as a pivotal step toward restoring stability, improving humanitarian conditions, and creating the necessary groundwork for transitioning to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Al-Yamahi expressed deep appreciation for the sincere and intensive efforts undertaken by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, under the sponsorship of the United States, to reach this Palestinian national understanding. He noted that these efforts reflect a genuine political will to support the resilience of the Palestinian people and to end the worsening humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip.

The President of the Arab Parliament stressed the urgent need to compel the Israeli occupation to fully respect the agreement, withdraw completely from the Gaza Strip, consolidate de-escalation, and pave the way for early recovery and reconstruction. He also underscored the importance of opening all crossings without restrictions and ensuring the safe, continuous entry of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid to all areas of Gaza to meet the Palestinian people’s urgent needs.

Al-Yamahi affirmed that the Israeli occupation bears full international legal responsibility for any violations of the ceasefire agreement or any obstruction to its implementation. He emphasized that continued violations, delays in withdrawal, or restrictions on opening crossings constitute grave breaches of international humanitarian law and international legitimacy resolutions, warranting accountability before competent international judicial mechanisms. He called on the international community not to provide any political or legal cover for the occupation and to take deterrent measures to ensure compliance with obligations and an end to attacks against the Palestinian people.

He further emphasized the necessity of continuing efforts to unify Palestinian visions and positions to overcome the current critical phase and move toward unity of the Palestinian political system and an independent national decision, in defense of Palestinian rights. This includes confronting plans to annex the West Bank, expand settlements, and commit violations against religious sanctities in Jerusalem.

Al-Yamahi concluded by reaffirming that the Arab Parliament will continue its full support for any serious Arab or international efforts that contribute to consolidating the ceasefire and advancing a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause—one that ends the occupation and realizes an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
