Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Canada, said he was honoured to meet with Her Excellency Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, at her official residence in Ottawa.
During the meeting, he conveyed to Her Excellency the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, may God protect him. The discussion also provided an opportunity to review the trajectory of Qatar–Canada relations and to build upon the outcomes of the recent successful official visit of the Prime Minister of Canada to Doha.
Ambassador Al-Ansari expressed his appreciation for Canada’s recognition of the constructive role played by the State of Qatar at both regional and international levels, reaffirming his aspiration to continue working closely with Canadian partners in a manner that advances the shared values and mutual interests of the two friendly countries.
