Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, received Dr. Anis Matta, Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday, 5 February. During the meeting, Abdelatty praised the distinguished and steadily growing ties between Egypt and Indonesia, highlighting the notable momentum achieved across multiple fields following the elevation of bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.

The talks also addressed avenues of cooperation within the framework of the Developing Eight (D-8), currently chaired by Indonesia, underscoring shared priorities among leading developing economies.

In addition, the two sides exchanged views on developments related to the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the requirements of the second phase of the U.S. president’s plan. Discussions covered support for the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, as well as the proposed international stabilization force—reflecting a shared commitment to regional stability and coordinated international action.
