A high-level delegation from the Energy Committee of the State Duma of Russia visited the construction site of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, marking a significant moment in the evolving strategic partnership between Egypt and Russia.

The visit underscored the geopolitical and developmental weight of the project, reaffirming both nations’ shared vision for peaceful nuclear energy, sustainable growth, and long-term energy security. It also opened new avenues for deeper bilateral coordination and technological collaboration.

The delegation was received by Engineer Mohamed Ramadan Badawy, Vice Chairman for Operation and Maintenance, alongside senior representatives of Egypt’s Nuclear Power Plants Authority, reflecting the project’s institutional strength and national priority.

Nikolai Shulginov, Chairman of the Energy Committee, emphasized that Russia’s model for international nuclear cooperation is grounded in mutual respect and strategic partnership. He highlighted a comprehensive approach that includes infrastructure development, advanced technology transfer, workforce training, and regulatory support.

He further noted that El Dabaa stands as a continuation of a historic trajectory of cooperation between the two nations—one that dates back to the contributions of the Soviet Union in building the Aswan High Dam, a landmark that reshaped Egypt’s development path.

Members of the delegation praised the project’s rapid and disciplined progress, noting that construction remains on schedule despite the external pressures posed by Western sanctions affecting some Russian companies involved.

At El Dabaa, atoms are not merely harnessed—they are transformed into a language of trust, resilience, and a shared future.
