The President of the Republic of Tatarstan within the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov, met with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, in a meeting reflecting the growing partnership between the two sides.
The meeting comes shortly after Abdelatty’s working visit to Moscow, where he held talks with President Vladimir Putin. Minnikhanov expressed his appreciation for the invitation to visit Cairo and the warm hospitality extended to him.
Both sides highlighted the long-standing and friendly relations between Egypt and Russia, noting that the two countries recently marked the 80th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Egypt represents a key partner for Russia in Africa, particularly in trade, energy, and industrial sectors. He also underlined Tatarstan’s active role in advancing Russian-Egyptian relations and its strong interest in expanding cooperation with partners across the Islamic world.
For his part, Abdelatty warmly welcomed Minnikhanov, recalling his visit to Kazan as part of the Egyptian delegation participating in the BRICS Summit, and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
